ASSISTANT BUYER: men’s (and some women’s) clothing, accessories, furnishings
Responsibilities: evaluate prior sales statistics (including lost or cancelled orders) for similar or same products in order to forecast purchasing requirements for seasonally mailed upscale catalogs, retail stores, and web site; monitor demand for product as shown in current sales and unfilled orders, in order to replenish store, web and catalog sell through as needed; monitor vendor fulfillment, performance, all vendor shipments and receipts and quality control; reconcile invoices with purchase orders; resource new vendor or product possibilities; determine merchandising options and priorities, for store and the web; set sales goals and determine success of product; train customer service and sales staff on products, handle customer service by phone or web.
Qualifications/knowledge/skills desired: College degree, 2 years work experience, intelligent, well mannered, computer skills including Excel spreadsheets, financial and communication skills, multi-tasking, attention to detail, team player, appreciation of fine clothing make and materials.
Seeking an intelligent, highly organized and well-mannered college grad with excellent skills on the phone and in writing to assist in Chairman’s office with customer service correspondence and phone inquiries; and also maintain communication and correspondence for the company executives.

Excellent salary and benefits. Full time on premises only, with company headquartered in Charleston, SC. Interviews on premises only. State salary requirements.
