Powder Blue and Cream Seersucker Suit

Item#
518S
$1,295.00 - $1,345.00
Woven by Solbiati of Italy, this is the real McCoy— authentic seersucker, puckered and perfect—is distinctively different from its cheap imitators. Ever since the original cotton fabric found its name in English from the Hindustani, which in turn was a derivation of the Persian words “shir o shekar”, translated as “milk and sugar” (probably from its resemblance to the smooth texture of milk and bumpy texture of sugar), true seersucker has been distinguished by its wrinkled appearance, caused by a weave that bunches threads together. This weave results in the fabric sitting away from the body, allowing for better air circulation, and dissipation of heat, and the lack of necessity to press the fabric, regardless of humidity. Seersucker has always been a mainstay of southern gentlemen, in a muted powder blue and cream stripe, which speaks of summer comfort and style.

We have cut the suit with plain front trousers, (forward pleat upon request), The jacket's easy to wear silhouette has a center vent, double pipe and flap lower pockets, and our trim 3 1/4" lapel. Also available as a sport coat (518J). Shown with our classic white broadcloth spread collar shirt, and our jacquard woven tie in a sun ground with sky blue labs, as well as our pure linen pocket square with a two-tone tattersall check.
