Royal Alpaca Shawl Collar Sweaters

We are delighted to introduce our newest sweater, knitted from Peruvian “Royal Alpaca”. The alpaca is only bred for its fiber, which is sheared annually. While all alpaca fiber is softer, lighter and stronger than either cashmere or sheep wool, (and lacks the possible itch factor of wool!) Royal Alpaca represents the crème de la crème of alpaca, since these fibers are generally less than 19 microns in diameter – even finer than “Baby” alpaca, which is between 19 and 21 microns in diameter. Our extremely soft sweater has the hand of fine cashmere. Lightweight and durable, it makes up handsomely in our shawl collar pull over sweater, with an elegant drape, two convenient buttons at the neck, banded cuffs and a banded waistband.
