Donegal Mist Plaid Sport Coat

From Magee of Ireland comes this Donegal Mist plaid, suffused with muted hues of olive, claret, and storm on a taupe ground. We were fortunate to be able to obtain this cloth as Magee rarely weaves it, but it speaks to our Ben Silver style in 60% wool, 35% mohair and 5% cashmere, and we were determined to cut it into these handsome jackets this season. We have cut the cloth in a full range of sizes, and tailored in a trim natural shoulder silhouette with a canvassed and lined two-button front, and trim 3" lapels, side vents and double pipe and flap lower pockets. We show it simply with our essential blue cotton twill spread collar shirt, and a classic clover ground striped silk tie with copper stripes bordered in navy. We like the way our tobacco suede Cavendish tassel loafer brings out the soft hues of the jacket, and we have paired it with a suede belt in the same shade. We recommend either our taupe cavalry twill trousers or our chocolate brown twills. Eyewear is from Lafont of Paris, a semi-square richly hued tortoise frame with a hint of green marble.
